Grupo Chedraui issues its first-ever Annual Sustainability Report dated April 6th, 2020, covering a full year of operation, from January 1st, 2019, to December 31st of the same year.
This report was prepared under the GRI 2016 Standards reference and serves as Grupo Chedraui’s first step towards the gradual adoption of the best practices established by the Global Reporting Initiative organization, setting as a goal a stricter adherence to the aforementioned standards in subsequent reports.
It is worth noting that at the date of this report, Grupo Chedraui does not have a materiality study to define more accurately, the most representative social, economic and environmental impacts of the Company. Therefore, the Investor Relations team, which elaborates Grupo Chedraui’s earnings release and financial reports, supported by the opinion of IRDesign, a firm specialized in sustainability reporting, determined as the key aspects to be covered, the following:

The information herein disclosed contains in a comprehensive manner, the economic, social and sustainable performance of Grupo Chedraui, duly identified by subtopics and backed by visual elements to facilitate the understanding of its stakeholders.
The Company considers that the information disclosed explains in an impartial manner its operating performance, without omitting information on actions that could have been better executed or that had a negative impact during 2019.
The information covered in this report is clearly written and presented in a simple and straightforward manner, with the support of two tables of contents, one to ease the search of relevant information for stakeholders, and the other one to reference the compliance with GRI Standards.
The report contains the necessary historical information to clearly indicate Grupo Chedraui’s progress in the material topics selected, which will remain in future editions.
In order to provide certainty and validity to this report, Grupo Chedraui has attached as sources of external verification, the letter from Vert, Desarrollo Sustentable with regards the GRI methodology compliance, as well as the external audit report from the firm Galaz, Yamazaki, Ruiz Urquiza, S. C., member of Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu Limited, with respect to the Company's financial statements.
Grupo Chedraui began the elaboration process of this report in advance to make available the information of 2019 fiscal year to its stakeholders in a timely manner, in accordance to the period in which these documents are usually issued.
